Dr. Shonta M. Smith is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Dr. Shonta Smith International. Her company is based out of St. Louis, Mo. Dr. Shonta Smith International provides services to professional corporations and institutions in the education field. The company's mission is to help provide schools and institutions with the highest quality education possible to our youth and to assist teachers, principals and other education professionals excel in their careers. Dr. Smith offers a number of services including professional development seminars, teacher mentoring programs, principal mentoring programs, career services and consulting services.

Dr. Smith is a department chair and full tenured professor in the Elementary, Early Childhood and Special Education Department at Southeast Missouri State University. She has over 32 years of experience in education. Out of those 32 years, 17 years have been at the elementary, middle and high school levels. She has been a teacher, team leader, department head, coach, administrative intern and principal with the St. Louis Public Schools, Normandy School District, and the Ferguson-Florissant School District. The other 15 years have been at the Collegiate level as an adjunct professor with Lindenwood University and as an assistant professor, associate professor, professor and department chair with Southeast Missouri State University.

Her research interest are African Centered Rights of Passage Programs, Culturally Responsive Teaching and Instructional Leadership.

Dr. Smith received her Ed. D. Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from St. Louis University, her M.Ed. Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Missouri St. Louis, and her B.S. Bachelor of Science in Education from Harris Stowe State University.

Dr. Smith is passionate about educating our community. Her motto is, "One Team, One Goal, One Band, One Sound".
